We’re excited to share some big news about our leadership team here at Vicious Biscuit, changes that reflect just how serious we are about scaling the right way as we grow across the country.
Welcoming Mike Stevens as Chief Development Officer
We’ve brought on Mike Stevens as our new chief development officer and director of supply chain, and we couldn’t be more excited about what he brings to the table. Mike has more than 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, with deep expertise in franchise development, operations, and supply chain strategy. He’s helped build and scale brands at a high level, including a stretch at Tilted Kilt, where he helped grow the concept to over 100 locations in less than six years. Most recently, he was senior business development director at Buyers Edge Platform/Consolidated Concepts, and he’s also held leadership roles at Shamrock Foods and Pita Jungle.
At Vicious Biscuit, Mike will lead our franchise sales strategy, pipeline development, and franchisee lifecycle support, while also driving efficiencies across sourcing, distribution, and cost management systemwide.
Congratulations to Kate Byrd on Her Promotion
We’re also proud to promote Kate Byrd from office manager to franchise liaison. Kate has been instrumental in managing our growing franchise pipeline and keeping openings on track across markets, and this new role recognizes just how vital she’s become to our franchise partners’ success.
Going forward, Kate will be a key point of contact for our franchisees, guiding them through onboarding, site development, training, and store openings, while keeping our internal teams aligned every step of the way.
Building the Team to Match Our Ambitions
These additions build on our recent promotion of Mike Ball to vice president of franchise operations, giving us a dedicated leadership structure spanning development, operations, and franchise support, exactly what we need as we scale.
Right now, we have more than 40 signed franchise locations in development, with a goal of reaching 50 to 75 units over the next five years through smart, measured growth. We currently operate seven corporate locations across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida, along with four franchise locations in Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Ohio, and we’re just getting started.
